# Cohere credentials

You can use these credentials to authenticate the following nodes:

## Prerequisites <a href="#prerequisites" id="prerequisites"></a>

Create a [Cohere account](https://cohere.com/).

You'll need an account with the following access:

* For the Trial API, you need User or Owner permissions.
* For Production API, you need Owner permissions.

## Using API key <a href="#using-api-key" id="using-api-key"></a>

To configure this credential, you'll need:

* An **API Key**: To generate a Cohere API key, go to the [API Keys section of your Cohere dashboard](https://dashboard.cohere.com/api-keys).
